COMPENSATION & LOCATION

The compensation for this role is $18.00/hour.

This is an onsite position based out of our Elk Grove Village, IL location. Travel to other locations may occur, although minimal.

POSITION SUMMARY

The Shipment Specialist will be responsible for processing packed medication through various systems as determined by the shipping modality (i.e., courier, FedEx, UPS, etc.) established prior to dispense. In addition, they will be responsible for bringing the completed packages to the staging area for pickup. Supplemental responsibilities include, but are not limited to, end of day reset of shipping related resources and scanning of paperwork into the electronic medical record.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES 
  • Shipping out packed medication using various systems determined by shipping modality established prior to dispense.
  • Bringing labelled packages from the pharmacy to the staging area for pickup. This includes offloading of carts/flatbeds onto pallets.
  • Scanning of paperwork into electronic medical record, appropriate naming of the paperwork, and digitally attaching paperwork to the correct patient.
  • Ensure that all shipments are picked up by the respective courier prior to end of day.
  • Ensure that all pallets, carts, and flatbeds are returned to their current staging area once the shipments are picked up.
  • Assist with other duties and projects as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & TRAINING 
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Detail oriented individual
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (i.e., Word and Excel)
  • Excellent internal and external customer service skills
  • Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work well in a team environment and provide support to other team members
PREFERRED
  • Illinois Pharmacy Technician License, preferred
  • National Technician Certification, preferred 
  • Previous Specialty Pharmacy experience, preferred
